Using a converted net boat, several TCFF members had their Kayaks ferried out
to prime tarpon fishing areas. Though none were caught, several
ladyfish and sea trout were.

On the April North Carolina trip, Joe Manjoine landed what was determined to
be the largest steelhead anyone has ever caught on the Little Tennessee River.

The Lake County Water Authority Nutrient Reduction Facility (NuRF) Project Manager
Lance Lumbard (top left and brushing up on his fly casting, bottom left) was the
guest speaker talked about the NuRF Facility and the removal of nutrients in
water flowing in the Beauclair Canal from Lake Apopka to Lake Beauclair,
which is part of the Harris Chain of Lakes.

fellowship, games and, most of all, food at the 2010 Annual Picnic.

The TCFF has participated in the Back Bear Festival for the last five years and this year was a beautiful, sunny day, even though it was a bit windy. The fly casting demonstrators were overwhelmed with people wanting to try their hand at the art to the point that the fly tyers had to pitch in.

The March Saltwater Outing took place at Fort Island County Park with
Club Members wading near the boat ramp and others in Kayaks.

TCFF Members were kept busy at the recent Outdoor Expo held in
The Villages holding fly tying demonstrations and giving fly casting lessons.

About 60 pounds of trash, or about 10 cubic feet, were collected at the
March Adopt-A-Lake Clean-up with one group starting at the south end of the
west shore of Lake Griffin and the other at the north end with the idea of
meeting in the middle. Afterwards, everyone met at the
Blue Heron Pub & Marina for a great lunch.

Doug Dombek & Gary Chrisitie visited Fiddler Pond recently to explore this
small (6 acre) lake as a possible candidate for “private waters”, i.e. for
exclusive fishing rights and use by the club.

held at the Club's Wednesday Evening Meeting.

JAKES (Junior Achieving Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship) at the
Ocala Conservation Center. Tri-County Fly Fishers presented an
outstanding program to 156 children from the age of seven to the age of fifteen,
plus quite a few curious adults.

Richard Dodd caught this 18 inch spotted sea trout at Fort Island Gulf Beach
fishing during the incoming tide in wading in about two to three feet of water.
The fish was caught on a pink comet tied for Washington State salmon
which looks a little like a pink shrimp.
