This is a popular popper for all sorts of panfish and small bass. For fishing grassy areas, include some sort of weed guard.

Materials:
Hook: Daiichi 1180 size 10
Thread: Fluorescent green 6/0 (140 denier)
Body: Fluorescent lime green synthetic living fiber (SLF) dubbing and 2 millimeter thick closed-cell green foam.
Tail: Lime green Krystal flash
Eyes: Large black monofilament eyes.
Legs: Orange medium round legs |

1. Start the thread on the hook. Wrap the thread down the shank and slightly into the bend. Return the thread to the starting point. |

2. Tie on several short pieces of Krystal flash to form the tail of the fly. |
|
|
3. Tie a strip of closed-cell foam to the top of the hook shank.
|
|
|
4. Spin a pinch of dubbing on the thread and wrap the body. Fold the foam over the top to make the back of the fly. Tie off the foam but do not clip the excess. |

5. Tie on the monofilament eyes.
|
|
|
6. Tie on two strands of round rubber to create the legs of the fly.
|
|
|
7. Spin more dubbing on the thread and wrap the head of the fly. Fold the foam back and tie off.
|
|
|
|
8. Cut the excess foam to create a small tag on top of the fly. Cut a notch in the tag to form a wing.
